MONTHLY FAVOURITES - JANUARY 2014

Beauty favourites

Top Secrets All-in-One BB Cream - Yves Saint Laurent - Shade: Medium
This BB Cream from YSL is amazing! It's by far the best BB Cream I've ever tried. It's really hydrating, it glides on your skin very nicely and feels so moisturising. This BB Cream also works as a primer if you want to even out your skin tone, hydrate, conceal or correct your skin before you put your makeup on. I don't have to put concealer on when i use it, it gives such a great coverage.

Naked 2 Palette - Urban Decay
In this palette are 12 beautiful shades, 3 matte shades and 9 shimmery/glittery shades. This palette is the perfect travelling companion, it doesn't only offer so many possibilities with a mirror included, it comes with a full size crease and shadow brush, the packaging is made from a steel type material, which is really easy to clean with a wipe or a wet cloth. I don't know if my makeup collection is the only one that gets a bit dirty, so being able to just wipe it all off is a bonus.

They're Real! - Benefit
I honestly love this mascara, i have 0 problems with it, it doesn't clump and it evenly spreads out your lashes to look perfect. it doesn't flake or melt off after a while but the TIP of the brush is the best part, it has a rounded end that still has the little bristle things instead of just being a blunt tip. It makes it alot easier to spread out your eyelashes and get a non-clumpy, even look

Eye Brows - MAC - Shade: Brunette
I was having such a hard time making my brows look natural. My brows looked so harsh no matter what I used to fill them in with. I could never find the right shade.  Now my brows look so well groomed and it doesn't matter if I mess up tweezing, you can't tell.

Matte Lipstick - MAC - Shade: Diva
This lipstick is amazing. It is a very gorgeous plum/burgundy vampy look that is perfect for the fall and winter. I receive so many compliments when I wear it.

Nail Lacquer - OPI - Shade: Up Front & Personal
Love this colour! I've been wearing it all month!

MINI MAC HAUL

Recently I've been trying out some new makeup from MAC, I wanted to share with you what I got and what i think about the products!

Mineralize Skinfinish - Soft & Gentle
I think this highlighter is so beautiful! It is probably going to be my favourite next summer!

Studio Finish Concealer - NW 25
I needed a new concealer so I  decided to give this one a try, Not so sure what I think about it yet.

 Eye Brows - Brunette
Love love love this eye brow pencil, my new favourite! The pencil is very thin so it's easy to apply, it goes on really smooth and has a natural finish. This eyebrow pencil is replacing my Sensai eyebrow pencil!

 Lip Pencil - Naked
I use this lip pencil to line my lips before I put on  my Creme D'Nude lipstick, not much to say about it!

Cremesheen Lipstick - Creme  D'Nude
A very nice nude lipstick for everyday use!

Matte Lipstick - Diva
My new favourite lipstick! Im so obsessed with dark lipsticks, this deep reddish burgundy is so perfect I just can't get enough of it!

 Swathes: Diva - Creme D'Nude

Fix +
A very nice moisturising/refreshing spray. I spray it on my face before makeup application and it's also great for applying shadows.

HOMEMADE LIP SCRUB

What you need
Sugar or Brown Sugar
Honey
Coconut Oil
Jar
Teaspoon

I took about 2 teaspoons of brown sugar, 2 teaspoons of coconut oil, 1 teaspoon of honey and mixed it all together. I took my mixture and rub in gentle circular motions around my lip area to remove excess dead and flaky skin.
The oil in the mixture will help to keep your lips from drying out. W
hen you’re done I would apply a moisturising balm to your lips to really lock in the moisture.

NAKED 2 REVIEW

In this palette are 12 beautiful shades, 3 matte shades and 9 shimmery/glittery shades. This palette is the perfect travelling companion, it doesn't only offer so many possibilities with a mirror included, it comes with a full size crease and shadow brush, the packaging is made from a steel type material, which is really easy to clean with a wipe or a wet cloth. I don't know if my makeup collection is the only one that gets a bit dirty, so being able to just wipe it all off is a bonus.

Foxy - A cream toned matte shade perfect for highlighting your brow-bone.

Half Baked - This is so beautiful shade. It's a very pretty speckled golden shadow.

Bootycall - This is one of my favourite shades. It's the perfect champagne shade.

Chopper - It's a very pigmented copper shadow and it's very shimmery, I use this all over my lower eyelid for a bit of a different smokey look.

Tease - This is one of my favourite shades, it's the perfect blending shadow. I think it's a total must in every eyeshadow palette palette!

Snakebite - This is a very dark brown/bronze colour with a light shimmer, I like using this on the outer corners.

Suspect - A very light, shimmery grey/brown shade, perfect if you want more of a natural look.

Pistol - A grey shimmery shade. I have to say that this shade is my least favourite in this palette.

Verve - Im so in love with this colour. Together with suspect the perfect companion for those gals who prefer a more natural look, it's a very light shade of grey/brown with just the slightest of shimmers.

YDK - This is a gorgeous bronze glittery shadow, very similar to Chopper, but not as golden.  It goes perfectly with Half baked and Busted.

Busted - This is a beautiful glittery maroon/dark brown shade. This shade is perfect nice for a smokey look.

Blackout - This is one of the matte shades, it's black, not really a lot to say about it.

2 Natural daytime looks using this palette

Eyeshadows: Bootycall - Chopper - Foxy - Tease - Snakebite
Eyeliner: Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner
Mascara: YSL Babydoll

Eyeshadows: Verve - Snakebite - Tease - Busted - Booty call - Foxy
Eyeliner: YSL Babydoll & Loréal Super Liner Perfect Slim
Mascara: YSL Babydoll

MY FAVOURITE BRUSHES!

Real Techniques - Buffing Brush
I use it to apply liquid foundation and it does a great job. It buffs it in beautifully. I get a flawless but natural looking finish. The application is also quick and comfortable. This brush has been my absolute favourite for the past 4 months. If you're looking for a  cheep foundation brush to apply liquid foundation, you should definitely check this one out!

Real Techniques - Expert Face Brush
This is my  favourite brush for applying cream foundation! The brush is synthetic, very dense and short so that it doesn't move around when you're applying your foundation. Very little product is wasted and the denseness also helps even out your complexion without any patchiness or streakiness. If you're looking for a  cheep foundation brush to apply cream foundation you should definitely check this one out!

Sigma - F80 Flat Kabuki
I'm so in love with this foundation brush, it does a great job buffing the foundation into the skin evenly and very fast. Overall this is one of the best make up brushes I've ever used. This brush is probably going to take over my Real Techniques Buffing Brush.

Sigma - F70 Concealer
I like how this brush has flat synthetic bristles, it is great for packing on concealer. The tip of the brush is a pointed/angled edge to really get in the corner areas of the face. The bristles hold a lot of product and give full coverage results when you pack.

Real Techniques - Powder Brush
I'm so in love with this brush. I have a few other powder brushes, but those don't even compare. I love how soft it is, and how well it applies and sets my powder. I finally found the perfect brush to apply my powder. I try not to think about all the money I've spent on expensive brushes that shed, hurt my face or don't apply my makeup evenly.

Sigma - F40 Large Angled Contour
This brush is so amazing. I use it to apply my bronzer and I find that unlike some of my other bronzer and blush brushes, this brush does not cause my foundation to move at all when applying my bronzer or blush. Definitely worth every penny!

Real Techniques - Blush Brush
This brush can be used for alot of other things than blush! I like using it to blend my contour. This extremely soft brush also does not shed after washing and keeps in good form. I definitely recommend this brush for everyone, especially for beginners.

Sigma - F50 Duo Fibre
I really like this brush to blend my make up. I like that it doesn't shed like the Duo Fibre brushes from MAC

Sigma - E40 Tapered Blending
MAC - 224
Urban Decay - Naked 2
Real Techniques - Base Shadow Brush
These are my favourite blending brushes!

Sigma - E65 Small Angle
Real Techniques - Accent Brush
I use these brushes to put eyeshadow on my lower lash line and for eye-liner. I really like how they're easy to control.

Sigma - E55 Eye Shading
Real Techniques - Shading Brush
These are my favourite brushes to use all over the eyelid.

Sigma - E70 Medium Angled Shading
Sigma - E30 Pencil
I use the Pencil brush first and then I blend with the Medium Angled Shading brush, witch leaves to a really nice finish!

BB CREAM REVIEW

Top Secrets All-In-One BB Cream - Yves Saint Laurent

This BB Cream from YSL is amazing! It's by far the best BB Cream I've ever tried. It's really hydrating, it glides on your skin very nicely and feels so moisturising. This BB Cream also works as a primer if you want to even out your skin tone, hydrate, conceal or correct your skin before you put your makeup on. I don't have to put concealer on when i use it, it gives such a great coverage. I use it only on weekends or when I'm going something special, just because it's so expensive.

Nude Magique BB Cream - Loréal

I've been using this BB cream for about 6 months now and I'm so in love with it! I use it every single day for a natural look. It feels so light and comfortable on my skin, just like I have no makeup on, I like how it blends with my skin tone and has a great matt finish.
I find it that i don't need to put setting powder on top, as it leaves my skin looking matt and flawless all day.

Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream- Garnier

I really wanted to like this product. My skin looked really nice the first few times I used it. Few days later, cystic acne showed up on my forehead, cheeks, even my nose! I was really disappointed. I know it was the Garnier BB Cream that caused the problems, because when I stopped using it, I went back to my Loréal BB Cream and my skin cleared up completely.
